ITHP has list of Accredited Learning Providers that can provide training support for your staff who are seeking certification.  You can contact ITHP for listing of Accredited Learning Providers near your area.
The CHP® and CTP® exams each have 50 questions.
The exam includes questions in multiple choice format and also case essays. Some questions are based on "terminology" and others are based on "real-work case analysis" where the candidate must perform analysis to arrive at the answer.
The exam is based on the Guide to CHP®/CTP® Body of Knowledge. The exam also tests candidates' practical knowledge at real-work experience and situation.
Candidates will be given three and a half hours to complete the exam.
If you missed the exam date without cancelling in advance, you are considered a no-show and you forfeit the exam fee. However, if there were extenuating circumstances such as a medical emergency, you may get consideration with the proper documentation such as a doctor's note. Every case is assessed on an individual basis.
Exam candidates will be notified by email within 30 days. A transcript of score and official letter on the results will be sent to the candidate.
You can retake the exam as many times as you want, but you need to pass the examination within five (5) years from the time you registered for the exam. If you still fail the exam, you will no longer be accepted for examination anymore.
Yes, a request can be made to ITHP for the exam can be re-scored for fee of US$50. There is a risk that after review of the exam, you may get a lower score and this shall be considered as your official score.
